Should I book for Online or In-Person?
It is entirely you and your child's preference.
I am happy to drive to any safe locations within a 15-mile (approx.) radius of the Wirral. For details & requirements, please do see my SAFEGUARDING POLICY linked below.
If online works better for you, no problem. Meetings can be arranged via Zoom, Google Meets, or Teams.
Do you have a DBS?
Yes - safety is my first priority.
I can provide copies of my current DBS Certificate Number and even a recent ICPC for peace of mind.
What do you cover in lessons?
We'll start with a 15-minute free consultation allowing us a pressure-free introduction & a chance to ask any questions.
Lessons will typically follow this pattern:
1. 5-min catch up
We'll talk about school work, strengths/weaknesses and goals for the week.
2. 30-40 min task
I like to start with a short confidence-boosting task, followed by reading together, guided questions & a short writing task to finish.
3. Feedback
Completing the lesson, we'll have a quick recap/review of what worked and what needs to be completed next. Easy.
What if I need to cancel a lesson?
No problem - if you call up to cancel 24hrs prior to the lesson, we can rearrange without a charge.
While I completely understand that life can get in the way and last minute cancellations can happen, parents/guardians may still be charged if cancellations fall outside of the 24hr notice period.

What are your qualifications?
Alongside my PGCE, I have 10 years' teaching experience across the UK and internationally, teaching yrs7, 8 & 9, AQA GCSE and iGCSE English Lang/Lit, including English as a Foreign Language.
Additionally, I attained a Level 4 Dyslexia Specialist certificate from Dyslexia Action during my years at Moon Hall School, Surrey - a leading dyslexia specialist school.
Do you offer Assessment for Neurodiverse conditions?
I do not offer diagnoses for neurodiverse conditions - instead, we'll begin by discussing together how your child prefers to work, potential barriers to learning, strengths, interests, and then apply the best practical solutions for making English accessible for your child.
